About This Course

Previously known as Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS), this new Level 3 qualification is the first step towards achieving fully qualified teacher status and is designed for those who are or want to be a teacher, tutor or trainer and need to be able to plan, prepare and implement learning for a specialist area. This qualification is entirely a private course and therefore no funding is available.

 

This qualification could be appropriate for jobs such as:

  • Freelance trainer
  • Internal staff trainer

It is an important pre-requisite for anyone in the freelance training industry and is a common requirement for employees who are looking to train internal staff, as proof of competency.

Duration of the course – 3 months

 

Units

  • Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training
  • Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training
  • Understanding assessment in education and training

 

Post Course Assignments

 Following the classroom based training; delegates are issued with a selection of written   

 assignments covering the 3 core units studied. These are to be completed and submitted  

 within 6 weeks of the course commencing in order to gain the qualification.

 

Attendance Requirements

 Minimum standards in language, literacy, numeracy and ICT are required to attend this  

 course and details will be provided on course application.

 

  Post Course Support and Guidance

 As the evidence is electronically produced, there is no need for visits to the

  workplace.
