We are currently recruiting for an apprentice to work as an accounts assistant for a firm of accountants based in Birmingham. You will need to be confident within yourself and take control and ownership of your duties.

This is an excellent role if you’re looking to launch your career, and there’s the chance of progression for the right person. Presentation, communication and professionalism are a must for this role.

Alongside this you will be working towards an Apprenticeship qualification and membership of the Association of Accounting Technicians. You AAT training will take place at Richmond upon Thames College, one day per week.

  • All general administrative duties, such as typing, filing, answering phones, distribution of post, photocopying, etc.
  • Liaise with tax authorities to deal with taxation, VAT related queries
  • Produce client engagement packs
  • Responsible for maintaining computerised and manual information systems to retrieve, input and update information.
  • The strict adherence to the Data Protection Act with regards to customer, and employee personal information.
  • Possess excellent communication skills to deliver services in a professional, polite and courteous manner at all times, both face to face and over the phone.
  • The meeting and greeting of customers and visitors, ensuring a high level of customer service is maintained.
  • Be flexible in approach, and undertake any other duties as required, to meet the needs of the business.


Skills required

  • Experience of dealing with a wide variety of people.
  • Experience of using ICT packages to include Excel, Word and Outlook.
